Questions About Individual Therapy

Most treatment protocols are 10-12 sessions. However, the therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs. Typically when clients start seeing progress they will start spacing their appointments out. Our goal is to teach you what you need to learn and help you to move forward with your life.
Individual therapy sessions typically last about 45 to 60 minutes and occur on a regular basis, usually once a week or bi-weekly. During sessions, we take the time to listen to your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, ask questions, offer insights, and suggest practical strategies to address specific concerns.
The length of your therapy depends on what you need and how you’re doing. For some, therapy can be short and focused on fixing a particular problem or reaching a goal. This might last a few weeks to a few months. Others might want to go deeper, working on bigger issues and learning new ways to cope. Therapy can continue for a longer time to provide ongoing support. Together, we’ll decide what’s best for you, and we’ll check in regularly to make sure we’re on track and adjust as needed.
