Match With A Mandarin Speaking Therapist

Our dedicated team of therapists offers more than just expertise, tools, and support; we provide a collaborative therapeutic relationship, ensuring you feel seen, safe, and heard.

Why Language Matters

Why Mandarin Speakers Choose Therapy in Their Own Language

Some things are hard to say twice. Once in the language you feel them in, and again in translation for a therapist who doesn’t speak it.

Distress doesn’t always show up as a clean list of symptoms. It can show up as headaches, stomach trouble, trouble sleeping, or a vague sense of being unwell, ways of describing suffering that are common across Chinese culture and easy to miss if a therapist isn’t listening for them. It can also come wrapped in silence. Many families don’t talk openly about mental health, and asking for help can feel like it reflects on the whole family, not just you.

Our therapist works with you in Mandarin from the first session. You don’t have to explain why saying “我很累” means more than being physically tired. You don’t have to translate the weight of family expectations, academic pressure, or the pull between two cultures into a language that flattens it.

1

No translation tax

Say what you mean the first time. Therapy is hard enough without doing it in your second language.

2

Expectations understood

Filial piety, the pressure to succeed, the fear of disappointing your parents. These are part of the conversation, not something you have to justify.

3

Stigma addresses directly

If going to therapy feels like admitting weakness or bringing shame on your family, that’s a real and common concern, not a sign something is wrong with you for feeling it.

Questions About Mandarin Speaking Therapy

Sessions are conducted directly in Mandarin with our therapist. No interpreter, no translation gap.
No. Seeking support for anxiety, sleep problems, or stress during a major transition doesn’t mean something is broken. It means you’re taking a difficult season seriously. What happens in session stays between you and your therapist.
Both are available.

Individual sessions are $275, family sessions $325. We don’t bill insurance directly, but we work with Thrizer to help you use out-of-network benefits, which often brings the out-of-pocket cost down to a copay. We can help you check your specific benefits during intake.
