Areas Of Focus

I provide therapy for adolescents and adults coping with anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, health-related challenges, and difficult life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed by recent changes, medical conditions, or past experiences that have altered their daily lives. My goal is to help clients regain a sense of control, move toward what matters most, and find greater peace and confidence.

I am a third-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Houston, specializing in Clinical Neuropsychology. My training includes providing psychotherapy at the Coping Resource Center, the Southern Smoke Foundation, and conducting neuropsychological assessments at MD Anderson Cancer Center for medically complex cancer patients. Earlier in my career, I co-facilitated support groups for brain injury survivors and their families.

At the Coping Resource Center, I combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to tailor treatment to each individual. I believe strongly in collaborative, evidence-based therapy that equips clients with practical tools for long-term resilience.

In addition to individual therapy, I run two of our specialty programs:

  • CBT for Chronic Pain Program: Helping clients reduce the impact of chronic pain, improve daily functioning, and reconnect with valued activities.

  • CBT-I Program for Insomnia: Delivering gold-standard treatment for insomnia to restore healthy sleep and improve overall well-being.

My background in brain-behavior relationships, chronic pain, and sleep research allows me to bring a comprehensive and health-focused approach to therapy. I am committed to helping clients develop lasting skills that improve both mental and physical health.

In our first session, we will get to know each other, explore what brought you to therapy, and identify your goals. Sessions typically begin weekly and may become more spaced out as you gain confidence using the skills and strategies we develop together, with the ultimate goal being that you feel equipped to handle life’s challenges independently.

If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-min consult to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help needed to live better.

In my free time, I enjoy connecting with family and friends, being in nature, and playing fetch with my cat, Odysseus. I also love trying all of the amazing food in Houston and discovering new favorite restaurants.
